2008 Season - Week 20
BUMSBowl XIII
After a first half (NFC Championship Game) produced 123 points in our 2 fantasy games all 4 BUMS were shut out in the second half (the AFC Championship Game). As a result BUMSBowl XIII is a repeat of BUMSBowl VII when Marcus beat Chief 30-15 back in 2002. They also met in the Championship Game in 2004 when Marcus also won, 27-23. History says put your money on the kid, he’s won all 3 previous visits to the BUMSBowl. Chief is 2-1 in the big game but if he can win he’ll join Marcus and Daz with 3 Bowl wins.
All-BUMS Voting
Don’t forget to vote for your favourite players of 2007. Remember I need (in order) your top 3 Running Backs and top 3 Receivers plus your number 1 & 2 Quarterbacks, Kickers and Coaches. Vote for your players based on BUMS points, how much you enjoy them, what they meant to their BUMS roster/NFL team or just the fact they were on your roster. The deadline is Thursday January 29th so get your votes in as soon as possible.
It Could Have Been So Different
After 2 years of not trading anyone John was the biggest winner from this years trades, he and Aaron would have been stayed in the Conference without trades but both are promoted. After picking up DeAngelo Williams on Trading Day 2 John saw him score 86 points in just 7 weeks and help him win the Conference. In the Premiership Wayne won the Papa Fritas with or without Trading Day but rather than finishing 2nd Gareth would’ve been 8th & Mark B has to be thankful for Trading Day – without it he would have been relegated. Trades benefitted 11 owners. John improve by a massive 186 points, Gareth by a useful 128, Ron 103, Aaron 89, Mark B 81, Cheryl 74, George 45, Johnnie 44, Marcus 36, AP 9 and Andy H 6. Without trades the tables would have looked like this:
PREMIERSHIP actual finish CONFERENCE actual finish
1 Wayne 498 1 1 David S 420 4
2 Dave G 440 4 2 Marcus 380 3
3 Mark H 429 5 3 George 338 5
4 Andy H 419 6 ---------------------------------
5 Johnny 400 3 4 Aaron 328 2
6 Daz 385 9 5 John B 259 1
7 AP 384 7
8 Gareth 342 2
----------------------------------
9 Mark B 311 8
10 Cheryl 291 10
11 Ron 253 11
